Cracking Down on the Cheaters or Beating Down the Little Guys?

By Paul Barton • May 30th, 2008 • Category: Motor Sports

NASCAR officials have decided that it would be good for the sport if they were to inflict some of the hardest punishments on a team that can barely withstand it. Haas-CNC Racing has been hit right between the eyes with a debilitating amount of penalties after both the 66 and the 70 were found, according to NASCAR.com, guilty of “actions detrimental to stock car racing” and “wing mounting locations were not as specified by the NASCAR Sprint Cup Rule Book”. In my opinion, and strictly my opinion, this is crap. What actions were detrimental to Stock Car Racing?

Let’s go Hoops!!!

Last Saturday night I had an opportunity to attend an FC Dallas game at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, which is north of Dallas. Me and 2 of my friends set off on the close to an hour drive to get there about dinner time and got there pretty easily considering the Dallas traffic patterns. They are soccer fans and I am a very casual fan. They explained to me some of the things that were going on during the game and it was nice to be around people who knew what was going on.

Jo-Pa May Not Be Getting Senile

The need for an NCAA Football playoff is so glaringly obvious it is truly a miracle that it has not been put in place yet. The idea that the students would miss too much class time is an affront by the AD’s who have been pimping their football teams to support everything else on the campus.

Get Your Back Side In Line

By Paul Barton • May 23rd, 2008 • Category: Motor Sports

It finally started today. The thing that bothers me the most about NASCAR, they have started to tweek the rule mid season. Good or bad changes, I hate it when they try to get everybody in line. In this case quite literally. The issue is the yaw in the rear tires that make the cars handle better in the corner but look just weird in the straightaways.

Things That Need to be Addressed: NFL Football

By Paul Barton • May 22nd, 2008 • Category: Football

The NFL is a very popular and profitable product that is in good shape. They are dangerously close to the point of implosion though. Get the CBA done, start controlling you players and your image, and remeber the game is the draw and the ship will stay on course. The iceberg is out there so be vigilant.

Things That Need To Be Addressed: Baseball

Bud Selig is the worst commissioner there has ever been, in any sport. He is an absolute boob. I understand the fact that he is basically an owners puppet but some of the things that have happened under his watch make me so angry that they let this moron ruin the game that was pretty much untouchable. The Great American Pastime. But he managed to screw it up. Here are some that make my blood boil.

The All Star Challenge: Not Bad

By Paul Barton • May 20th, 2008 • Category: Motor Sports

I went into the All-Star Race weekend with the idea that I would be somewhat interested in the race and just kinda watch the spectacle of it all. And that is pretty much what happened. We got a lot of interesting insights from the drivers and the commentators and anybody else who wanted to join in.

Eric Gagne Can Close His Suitcase, Please!

By Paul Barton • May 13th, 2008 • Category: Baseball

A closer has to have a single mindset; I will get you out! I am the man! How dare you step in the same stadium as me! You have no business here!
