The Eagles opened up the scoring first in the second period when Nathan Gerbe beat net minder Jordan Pearce. Gerbe would score his second of the night three minutes later on the power play. The Eagles would score once more before Notre Dame did making the score 3-0.



Fighting Irish Live Up To Their Name

The Irish dominated the first period scoring just 5 minutes in and then again 42 seconds later. The lead came for Notre Dame at 19:25 of the first with a short handed goal. The Wolverines answered back in similar fashion however, scoring two goals within 15 seconds of each other, midway through the second.



First Round Match Between Denver and Wisconsin to be Replayed

The first round match up between Denver and Wisconsin in the NCAA Men’s Ice Hockey Tournament will be replayed at the University of Denver.
Video review of the game by the NCAA showed multiple calls that seemed to heavily favor the Wisconsin team as well as a goal that was deemed to be kicked in.

Frozen Four Chosen

Boston College needed overtime as well to advance. Down 2-0 near the end of the second period, Boston came back very quickly and took a 3-2 lead by then end of the second. Miami could only score one more in the 3rd and the game was sent to OT. Boston’s forward Joe Whitney scored the overtime winner, sending Boston to their third straight Frozen Four.



Colorado Teams Continue to Fall Short in Frozen Four Tournament

Although Denver had the advantage in shots on net the Badgers’ exceptional goal tending carried them to a first round victory over the WCHA champion Pioneers. Wisconsin played a very offensive game overall, even having defensemen join key plays and contribute to the victory.



First Round of the Frozen Four Proves Exciting

Notre Dame and New Hampshire squared off in Colorado Springs at the World Arena in one of four games played for the first round of the NCAA Mens’s Ice Hockey Championship Tournament on March 28th. For the first half of the game the two teams looked pretty evenly matched both offensively and defensively.

Looks like I am just a little late on the uptake here, but the Frozen Four starts on the 28th of March. I know that this takes a bit of a backseat to the Men’s Basketball tournament, but I still like to keep a little bit of an eye on it.
