By Grant Beery • Apr 10th, 2008 • Category: Daily Deke, Hockey

Wednesday night was a night of upsets with only one top seed winning their game. In case you missed it, here’s a wrap up of last night’s games.

Calm Before the Storm: My Picks for the First Round

By Grant Beery • Apr 7th, 2008 • Category: Daily Deke, Hockey

Now that there is downtime before the postseason starts, the predictions start to fly. Here’s my breakdown for the eight series that start on Wednesday and Thursday.

Endgame: How the Season Wrapped Up

By Grant Beery • Apr 7th, 2008 • Category: Daily Deke, Hockey

The 2007-2008 regular season has officially ended. There are just three days until the playoffs begin. The matchups have been set and the schedules are posted. Now, the only thing hockey fans can do is bide their time, speculate, and predict.

What Gary Bettman Can Do To Save The NHL

By Chris Lucas • Mar 27th, 2008 • Category: Hockey

I want to preface this post with the fact that I love hockey. I grew up playing it in North Central Wisconsin and love the game at every level. While watching from the press box, Sid has seen his team skate to a 12-6-4 record. Detroit, besides that anomaly of a losing streak in February, haven’t really missed their injured players, skating to an eighth straight 100 point season.

By Grant Beery • Mar 11th, 2008 • Category: Featured, Hockey, Nose to Nose

Nosebleed’s first edition of Nose to Nose — think “point, counterpoint” — pits hockey lover and writer of the Daily Deke, Grant Beery, up against baseball-obsessed Chris Roberts to go tit for tat on who and what should be the finale at Yankee Stadium. (Photo: Kjetil Ree/Wikimedia Commons)
